Frequently asked questions
How is BMI calculated?
BMI is weight in kilograms divided by height in metres squared. Imperial entries are converted to metric first, so both unit systems give the same result.
Is BMI accurate for everyone?
No. BMI does not distinguish muscle from fat and is less meaningful for athletes, children, pregnant people and older adults. Treat it as a rough screening number only.
Is this medical advice?
No. This tool is informational only and does not diagnose or treat anything. Speak to a qualified healthcare professional about your health.
Is my data stored?
No. Your height and weight stay in the browser tab and are never uploaded.
