Watermarking a PDF

A watermark marks a document as a draft, an internal copy, or your own work. Because the text is written into each page as real PDF content, it survives printing and sharing.

Suggested settings

  • Draft review: “DRAFT”, centre, 45°, 20–30% opacity.
  • Confidential copy: “CONFIDENTIAL”, centre, 45°, 30% opacity, large size.
  • Ownership stamp: your name or site, bottom right, 0°, 40% opacity, small size.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The document is edited entirely in your browser and never leaves your device.

Can the watermark be removed afterwards?

It is added as page content, so it cannot simply be toggled off. Keep the original file if you need a clean copy.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. Choose “Selected pages” and enter a range such as 1-3, 5, 8-10.

Why is the watermark behind or over my text?

The watermark is drawn on top of the existing page content. Lower the opacity if it makes the page hard to read.
